Original Timeline[]

X-Men: First Class[]

In search of recruits for their division, Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr have him released from prison. At first, Alex was hesitant due to the uncontrollable nature of his powers but he joined them. Alex met with the other recruits, including Raven Darkholme and Hank McCoy and bonded with them. When Raven thought of code names based on their powers, Alex joked that Hank should be named 'Big Foot' for his big feet before he himself was dubbed Havok.

While staying with the others, the Hellfire Club attacked. Their leader Sebastian Shaw tried to convince the others to join him and succeeding in turning Angel Salvadore. Havok tried to shoot Shaw with his blasts but the older mutant's power of absorbing energy helped him survive and killed his fellow mutant Darwin.

He and the others relocated to the X-Mansion to train for the upcoming fight against the Hellfire Club.
