Wolverine and the X-Men was the fourth animated incarnation of the X-Men, following the failed TV pilot, Pryde of the X-Men, the 90s X-Men animated series, and X-Men Evolution. The new series premiered in America on January 23rd, on Nicktoons Network. Though a second season was originally planned, Joe Quesada, Arune Singh, and Josh Fine said the the show was cancelled after they were unable to work out a financing with their financing partner.
Plot
After the mansion explodes, Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey go missing, and the X-Men disband. 1 year later, Wolverine attempts to reform the X-Men, with Beast as his first recruit.

Xavier's Future X-Men
Professor X is put into a coma that lasts 20 years due to the blast and awakens in a terrible future. Note: This future is based on The Days of Future Past story arc from the comics.

Psylocke - Although not a member of the X-Men, Psylocke does aid the Brotherhood in one episode.
Colossus - Appears in the first episode engaged in a Danger Room session with Kitty and Kurt. Mystique takes his guise while infiltrating the mansion. It is unknown whether he'll appear in the second season.
